We replaced that urgent care’s three spreadsheets with a single Laravel backend that automatically pulls insurance data from MassHealth’s API and pushes updates to their EHR, cutting that 12-hour weekly reconciliation down to 30 minutes. The same system now handles appointment scheduling, patient intake forms, and controlled substance tracking without any manual data entry, freeing up the clinic manager to focus on patient care instead of paperwork.

Most off-the-shelf hospital systems force you to adapt your workflow to the software. We do the opposite: we build the software around how you already operate, so doctors and nurses don’t have to learn a new system on top of their existing routines. For a Waban orthopedic practice, we integrated their existing X-ray machine’s DICOM output directly into the patient chart, eliminating the need for nurses to manually upload images or transcribe findings.

The tech stack isn’t random either. We chose Laravel for the core because its Eloquent ORM handles patient records with the same relational integrity you’d expect from an enterprise system, while React powers the frontend so every dashboard loads in under 2 seconds even on older hospital computers. MySQL stores the data, but we added Firebase Cloud Functions to handle real-time inventory alerts when stock for controlled substances dips below state-mandated minimums.
