Managing patient data securely requires a database architecture that prevents unauthorized access while ensuring instant retrieval during emergencies. We built the backend using MySQL to handle structured patient histories, billing logs, and appointment schedules with strict relational integrity. For the user interface, we implemented React so that nurses and administrative staff can navigate patient queues without experiencing frustrating page load delays.

Billing errors often occur when front desk personnel manually transfer insurance details from intake forms into separate accounting software. To solve this, we integrated Stripe via REST APIs to handle patient co-pays and billing cycles directly inside the patient portal. This direct integration eliminated the manual reconciliation step that previously consumed four hours of administrative time every single day.

Many medical facilities rely on mobile devices for doctors making rounds or nurses checking vitals in different exam rooms. We developed a companion mobile application using Flutter that connects securely to the main database through secure REST endpoints. This allows clinical staff to view patient charts and update medication schedules directly from tablets without needing to return to a stationary desk.

When building software for healthcare providers, data validation is just as important as speed. We structured the backend controllers in Laravel to validate every incoming data field against strict medical compliance rules before writing anything to the database.
